BBC homepage style responsive slider built from scratch

If this doesn’t quite look right you might need to re-run the codepen as sometimes it gets a bit stuck while loading in the embed!

After BBC redesigned their homepage featuring a unique looking slider I decided to have a crack at my own version. Although the visual outputs are similar I approached the problem slightly differently and used some clever solutions to make it work responsively.

    Hi mate,

Looks amazing!! Do you use compass for this? If so is there a way for a noob like me to have compass embedded manually without using codekit or anything similar?

    Thanks,

Yeah, I usually compile my SCSS with Compass or Middleman using Ruby Gems. If you switch the tab over to SCSS on the codepen there and hit the ‘View Compiled’ button it will give you the raw CSS. If you’re using a Bootstrap grid on your site you won’t need my simple grid CSS I generated with Compass.

I love this but am having a real problem getting it to work on a site I’m working on. Am I doing something wrong?
